Rather predictable result in Reggio Calabria where third ranked Salerno (10-2) defeated 6th ranked Viola RC (8-4) 86-80 on Sunday. Salerno made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Manuel Diomede (189-90, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Vittorio Nobile (192-95) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Tommaso Carnovali (197-93) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Salerno keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Faenza. Loser Viola RC dropped to the third place with four games lost. Salerno will face Battipaglia (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Viola RC will play against Cuore Napoli (#10) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
