There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Aishin Sea Horses (12-12) lost on the road to third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (14-10) 77-73 on Sunday. It was a good game for American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: N.Carolina) replied with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar. moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD and Kawasaki BT. Loser Aishin Sea Horses dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play against the league's leader Niigata Albirex and hope to win that game.
