Very important is a home loss of second ranked Dragonflies (16-8) against fifth ranked Kanazawa Sam. (7-17) on Sunday night. Host Dragonflies were defeated by Kanazawa Sam. in a tough game in Hiroshima 80-89. It was a great shooting night for Kanazawa Sam. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and guard Yuuji Ide (181-88) supported him with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds by American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Dragonflies. Guard Seiya Tanaka (186-91) added 14 points. Kanazawa Sam. maintains fifth position with 7-17 record. Newly promoted Dragonflies still keep top place with eight games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Kanazawa Sam. will meet at home Bambitious Nara (#5) in the next round. Dragonflies will play against Tokyo Z (#4) and hope to secure a win.
