Regular Season Round 14: AIK Basket - Hogsbo 81-72

There was no surprise in Solna where 9th ranked Hogsbo (1-12) was defeated by seventh ranked AIK Basket (4-6) 81-72. It looked good early as Hogsbo took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then AIK Basket took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 9 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hogsbo's 26. They outrebounded Hogsbo 44-27 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. AIK Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Hogsbo's players. The former international guard Serkan Inan (201-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. AIK Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and guard Olle Andersson (181-95) added 20 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hogsbo. AIK Basket maintains seventh position with 4-6 record. Hogsbo lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. AIK Basket will play against higher ranked Trelleborg (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hogsbo will play against Alvik Basket to get more than just one victory in their record.
