The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers' (12-12) home victory over 5th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (9-15) in Tokyo 80-57 on Sunday. Hitachi Sunrockers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NeoPhoenix's 36. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Shinnosuke Ohishi (174-87) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for San-en NeoPhoenix. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 12-12 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix dropped to the fourth place with 15 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. San-en NeoPhoenix will play at home against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
