Not a big story in a game in Gdansk where 4th placed Miedzychod (8-4) was rolled over by leader Politechnika Gd. (12-0) 96-71 on Sunday. Politechnika Gd. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Miedzychod's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Patryk Piszczatowski (190-98) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Politechnika Gd. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mikolaj Smarzy (191-99) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Jaroslaw Kalinowski (180-79) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Politechnika Gd.. They maintain first place in Group A with 12-0 record. Loser Miedzychod keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Politechnika Gd. will face AZS UMK Torun (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Miedzychod will play against SMS PZKosz in Wladyslawowo and hope to win that game.
