Regular Season Round 24: Niigata Albirex - Tochigi Brex 62-68

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Niigata Albirex (15-9) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Tochigi Brex (20-4) 68-62. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international guard Yusuke Endo (185-89) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) added 11 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Tochigi Brex maintains first position with 20-4 record which they share with defeated Niigata Albirex. Niigata Albirex at the other side still keeps top place with nine games lost. They share the position with Toyota Alvark. Tochigi Brex are looking forward to face Osaka Evessa (#4) on the road in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and is hoping to win this game.
