Regular Season Round 13: Solares - Mondragon 71-72

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Solares (0-10) was edged at home by sixth ranked Mondragon (7-3) 72-71 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for point guard Dani Lorenzo (181-93) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Diego Garcia (192-0) added 13 points in the effort for Solares. Four Solares players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mondragon moved-up to fifth place in Group A-A. Solares lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with ten games lost. Mondragon will face higher ranked Valle de Egues (#4) in Olaz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Solares will play at home against Gallofa (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
