Regular Season Round 13: Salou - Igualada 83-73

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Salou (6-6) won against at home 3rd placed Igualada (8-4) 83-73 on Sunday. Salou made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Marc Olle (179-93) contributed with 9 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Sergi Carrion (180-97) answered with 15 points and Eduard Burges (189-90) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Igualada. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Salou. Newly promoted Salou maintains ninth place in Group C-A with 6-6 record. Igualada lost their third game in a row. They keep the third position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
