There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Valmontone (3-7) edged on the road 11th ranked Palermo GB (4-8) 81-79 on Sunday. Valmontone made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Palermo GB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 assists and the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who added 15 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Valmontone players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Giuseppe Caronna (206-94) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Marco Giancarli (179-95) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Valmontone moved-up to twelfth place in B. Loser Palermo GB keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Valmontone will face Pozzuoli (#14) at home in the next round.
