The most shocking disappointment of round 10 in the Serie A1 was a home defeat of their biggest opponent Broni (7-3) to third ranked Familia Schio (8-2) 67-55 in the game for the second place. It ended the eight-game winning streak of Broni. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Broni 41-26 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Familia Schio's coach Pierre Vincent used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Valentina Bonasia (164-94) responded with 11 points and Serbian-Bosnian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) scored 9 points. Familia Schio have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Broni at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Ragusa. Familia Schio are looking forward to face Sesto SG (#8) in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round where they are favorite. Broni will play on the road against Napoli (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
