Serie A1 top team - Venezia (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Sesto SG (4-6) in Sesto San Giovanni 77-53. They outrebounded Sesto SG 45-25 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Latvian center Anete Steinberga (190-90, college: UTEP, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) produced 14 points and the former international forward Elisa Ercoli (190-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Venezia have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Sesto SG lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Venezia will meet at home bottom-ranked Empoli (#12) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sesto SG will play against the league's second-placed Familia Schio (#2) and hope to secure a win.
