Round 10 in WNBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Canberra where host Canberra Capitals (8-5) crushed league's leader Perth Lynx (9-5) 92-60 on Sunday evening. Canberra Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Perth Lynx's 40. Canberra Capitals forced 20 Perth Lynx turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Perth Lynx's players. International forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. American swingman Alison Schwagmeyer (177-90, college: Quincy) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Canberra Capitals have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Perth Lynx lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Melbourne. Perth Lynx will play next round against Sydney Uni Flames trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Canberra Capitals will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Townsville Fire on the road.
