No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Denso Iris (10-4) beat 9th ranked Aishin Wings (4-10) in Kariya 71-58 on Sunday. They outrebounded Aishin Wings 52-35 including 22 on the offensive glass. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and international power forward Monica Okoye (181-99) supported her with 7 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by Kiho Miyashita (179-98) did not help to save the game for Aishin Wings. Point guard CaiDeng Sakai (164-95) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso Iris have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fujitsu RW and Mitsubishi K. Aishin Wings lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hitachi Cougars and Haneda Vickies. Denso Iris will meet at home Toyota B SR (#7) in the next round. Aishin Wings will play against Yamanashi QB and hope to secure a win.
