The most interesting game of round 9 in the D1 was only three-point a home defeat of 3rd placed Maccabi Ramat Gan (5-4) to second ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (6-3) 80-77 in the game for the second place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Gan. Hap.Petah Tikva made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Maccabi Ramat Gan 40-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. American point guard Alexis Peterson (170-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and her fellow American import forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 22 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Hap.Petah Tikva maintains second place with 6-3 record behind leader Elitzur Ramla. Maccabi Ramat Gan at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Hap.Petah Tikva are looking forward to face Bnot Hertzeliya (#6) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Ramat Gan will play against Maccabi Ashdod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
