Rather predictable result in Beer Sheva where sixth ranked Hapoel B/S (5-5) defeated 8th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-6) 87-70 on Monday. Hapoel B/S looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Taylor Braun (201-91, college: N.Dakota St.) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jordan Swing (198-90, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Hapoel B/S players scored in double figures. Hapoel B/S's coach Rami Hadar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Hapoel B/S maintains sixth position with 5-5 record. Loser Maccabi Ashdod dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Hapoel B/S will face higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
