The game between 12th ranked Dragons (9-13) and tenth ranked Blue Whales (11-11) in Daqing ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Chengdu outscored Dragons 81-53. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons' 36. They outrebounded Dragons 44-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jingwei Dong chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Center Liqing Cao (195-92) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Monique Billings (193-96, college: UCLA) added 4 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Blue Whales moved-up to ninth place. Dragons at the other side keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Blue Whales' next round opponent will be Liaoning Hengye (#14) in Anshan where they are favorite. Dragons will play on the road against Flame in Taiyuan and hope to win that game.
