Date: December 18, 2018
Very expected game when 9th ranked Sibenik (4-7) was crushed on the road by third ranked KK Zadar (8-3) 94-72 on Tuesday. The game without a history. KK Zadar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KK Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sibenik's 32. They outrebounded Sibenik 48-18 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. KK Zadar looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sibenik's players. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward Will Magarity (211-93, college: Davidson, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Luka Bozic (200-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Power forward Pavao Paic (205-98) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Martin Junakovic (186-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Four Sibenik players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Zadar moved-up to second place, which they share with Split. Sibenik lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Gorica. KK Zadar will meet at home bottom-ranked Bosco (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sibenik will play against Gorica in Velika Gorica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
