Regular Season Round 22: Tianjin GL - Nanjing TX MK 87-95

Everything went according to plan when fourteenth ranked Monkey Kings (7-14) defeated bottom-ranked Gold Lions (4-17) in Tianjin 95-87 on Tuesday. Monkey Kings dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Gold Lions' 34. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Monkey Kings made 7 blocks. American guard Joseph Young (188-92, college: Oregon) notched 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 38 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 9 assists by American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) did not help to save the game for Gold Lions. Guard DeShuai Shi (192-92) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Monkey Kings maintains fourteenth position with 7-14 record, which they share with Shanxi Z. Gold Lions lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Bayi R.. Monkey Kings will meet at home higher ranked Sharks (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gold Lions will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) in Urumqi and hope to secure a win.
