Regular Season Round 13: ToPo - HyPo 69-84

Korisliiga top team - HyPo (10-3) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat tenth ranked Torpan Pojat (3-11) in Helsinki 84-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Torpan Pojat. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Torpan Pojat managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HyPo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) stepped up and scored 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) chipped in 11 points and 19 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Ashli Payne (183-95, college: E.Washington, agency: Gamble Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Ladondra Johnson (178, college: Young Harris) scored 17 points. HyPo maintains first place with 10-3 record, which they share with Espoo Team. Newly promoted Torpan Pojat stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. HyPo is looking forward to face ViVe (#8) in Vimpeli in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torpan Pojat will play at home against Tapiolan Honka and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
