Regular Season Round 1: Al Ahli - Al Wakrah 68-71

Important game to mention about took place in Doha. Al Wakrah (2-0) saved a 3-point derby victory on the road edging Al Ahli (0-2) 71-68 on Wednesday evening. Al Wakrah made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international Ali Saeed Erfan (198-83) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Kenny Hall (206-90, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Julius Coles (193-89, college: Canisius) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Al Wakrah will play against Al Khor (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
