Rather expected game in Czestochowa where 9th ranked Zaglebie (5-8) was defeated by seventh ranked AZS PCz (7-6) 102-86 on Wednesday. AZS PCz outrebounded Zaglebie 46-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists. The best player for the winners was Piotr Lucka (194-96) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Ukrainian swingman Yaroslav Fomichov (196-94) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. AZS PCz's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for the guests. Five AZS PCz and four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. AZS PCz moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Tarnowskie Gory. Loser Zaglebie keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. AZS PCz will face higher ranked AZS UJK Kielce (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaglebie will play against Tarnowskie Gory (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
