Regular Season Round 10: Tresnjevka - Montana 67-80

There was no surprise in Zagreb where bottom-ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (0-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Bulgarian Montana 2003 (5-3) 80-67 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Montana 2003. Tresnjevka was better in fourth quarter 23-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Montana 2003 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Power forward Dimana Georgieva (188-88) fired 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Taylor Manuel (190-93, college: Mississippi) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Montana 2003 players scored in double figures. Center Marta Savic (188-1) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and center Josipa Pavic (189-99) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tresnjevka's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Bulgarian champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Celje and Buducnost. Tresnjevka at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Montana 2003 will face Celje (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
