Regular Season Round 16: Seagulls - Pyrinto 87-82

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (9-6) against ninth ranked Helsinki Seagulls (6-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Tampereen Pyrinto was defeated by Helsinki Seagulls in a tough game in Helsinki 82-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tampereen Pyrinto. It looked good early as Tampereen Pyrinto took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Helsinki Seagulls had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Tampereen Pyrinto was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-87. Helsinki Seagulls made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Tampereen Pyrinto turnovers. Helsinki Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Jalen Jackson (198-94, college: UALR) contributed with 21 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Helsinki Seagulls players scored in double figures. American swingman Kenny Manigault (196-91, college: Pikeville) replied with 31 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jaylon Tate (190-95, college: Illinois) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tampereen Pyrinto. Helsinki Seagulls moved-up to seventh place. Tampereen Pyrinto at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Helsinki Seagulls will play against league's leader Vilpas in Salo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tampereen Pyrinto will have a break next round.
