There was no surprise when 10th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (4-11) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Kauhajoki (8-7) 83-74 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Jaron Hopkins (198-94, college: Fresno St.) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Larry Anderson (195-89, college: Long Beach St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kauhajoki and four Lapuan Korikobrat players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 8-7 record. Lapuan Korikobrat lost fifth consecutive game. Loser Lapuan Korikobrat keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Kauhajoki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against BC Nokia (#4) and hope to secure a win.
