Regular Season Round 6: Mgzavrebi - Rustavi 72-75

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Mgzavrebi (3-3) against tenth ranked Energy Invest (1-5) on Wednesday night. Host Mgzavrebi was edged by Energy Invest in a tough game in Tbilisi 72-75. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 19-10 run, which allowed them to win the game. Energy Invest made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Isaac Banks (201-94, college: E.Tenn.St.) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Even 21 points by international swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (195-93) did not help to save the game for Mgzavrebi. American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Energy Invest and five Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. Mgzavrebi's coach Anatoli Berishvili rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Energy Invest left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Cactus Tbilisi. Mgzavrebi at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Olimpi. Energy Invest will play against higher ranked BC Titebi (#7) in Tbilisi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Cactus Tbilisi.
