No shocking result in a game when third ranked Celje (5-3) smashed at home 6th ranked Triglav (2-6) 69-46 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Celje. Triglav was better in second period 16-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Celje forced 27 Triglav turnovers. American forward Rangie Bessard (185-96, college: Wichita St.) fired 23 points and 4 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian center Ana Radovic (191-90, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Urska Zibert (174-93) produced 12 points and point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-93) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celje have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Slovenian champion maintains third position with 5-3 record having just one point less than leader Crvena Zvezda, which they share with Buducnost and Montana. Triglav lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. Celje will face Montana 2003 (#5) on the road in the next round. Triglav will play against Banovici and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
