Very predictable result in Putian where tenth ranked Swordfish (10-13) smashed 15th ranked Fujian Nanan (6-17) 106-73 on Wednesday. Swordfish dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian Nanan's 40 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Swordfish forced 24 Fujian Nanan turnovers and outrebounded them 39-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Swordfish especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international Jing Huang (183-85) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: ProDep Management) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Qingrong Lin scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Swordfish and four Fujian Nanan players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swordfish maintains tenth place with 10-13 record, which they share with Hebei. Newly promoted Fujian Nanan keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Swordfish will face higher ranked Blue Whales (#9) in Chengdu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fujian Nanan will play at home against Jiangsu Phoenix (#3) and hope to win that game.
