Regular Season Round 11: Keflavik - Tindastoll 78-92
Date: December 20, 2018
An interesting game for Tindastoll (10-1) which played road game in Keflavik against 3rd placed Keflavik (8-3). First ranked Tindastoll managed to get a 14-point victory 92-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Keflavik. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Keflavik was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for international forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Tindastoll players scored in double figures. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) scored 14 points and 9 assists. Keflavik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tindastoll have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Njardvik. Keflavik at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Tindastoll will play against Thor Thorl (#6) in Thorlakshofn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Keflavik will play at home against the league's second-placed Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
