Regular Season Round 7: Akademik PL - Teuta 89-73

The game between second ranked Albanian Teuta (4-2) and fourth ranked Bulgarian Academik Plovdiv (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Teuta was defeated by Academik Plovdiv in Plovdiv 73-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Teuta. Academik Plovdiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Vasil Bachev (195-92, college: Cuesta JC) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Nigerian-Italian center Peter Olisemeka (204-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Eric Copes (203-93, college: Z*Orangeville A's) added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Teuta. Four Teuta players scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv moved-up to third place. Teuta at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face Blokotehna (#4) in Gevgelija in the next round. Teuta will play at home against Barsy Atyrau and is hoping to win this game.
