Top ranked Mineros (16-5) recorded its fifth loss at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Angeles (6-15) 91-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mineros. Angeles looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Jose Zesati (205-94) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV) chipped in 22 points. American forward Nick Harney (203-92, college: Fairmont St.) produced 19 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Angeles and four Mineros players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Angeles maintains seventh position with 6-15 record. Mineros at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Angeles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros will play again at home against Angeles and are hoping to win this game.
