Another exciting game was played in Torreon between fourth ranked Panteras and 5th ranked Laguneros where Panteras (11-10) beat Laguneros (10-11) on the road 103-89. Panteras shot 65.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Jesse Lopez (201-94, college: Sam Houston St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists and American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) added 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Laguneros. Laguneros' coach Eric Weissling rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras maintains fourth position with 11-10 record which they share with defeated Laguneros. Newly promoted Laguneros dropped to the fourth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Correcaminos and Abejas. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Laguneros will play again at home against Panteras (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
