Very important is a road loss of third ranked Union SF (9-8) against fifth ranked Independiente (8-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Union SF was defeated by Independiente in a tough game in Santiago del Estero 74-80. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Nicolas Kalalo (181-96) who led the winners and scored 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Independiente maintains fifth place with 8-7 record. Union SF lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second position with eight games lost. Independiente's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Salta Basket at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
