The game in Vitoria-Gasteiz supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Valencia (7-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Araski (5-6). Valencia did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-59 on Friday. Valencia outrebounded Araski 40-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Valencia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Anna Gomez (181-86, agency: ProDep Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Maria Pina (187-87) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Araski players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Valencia. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gipuzkoa UPV. Araski lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Al-Qazeres. Valencia will meet at home Maquinaria Ensino (#9) in the next round. Araski will play against Al-Qazeres in Caceres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
