Regular Season Round 14: Gravelines - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 52-80

The biggest surprise of round 14 in ProA was guest Pau-Lacq-Orthez's (9-5) easy road victory over Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) 80-52 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. Pau-Lacq-Orthez forced 22 Gravelines-Dunkerque turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American CJ Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 18 points and 7 assists. The other American import point guard Mickey McConnell (182-89, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 11 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) produced 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Karvel Anderson (188-91, college: Robert Morris) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Bourg. Pau-Lacq-Orthez is looking forward to face league's second-placed JSF Nanterre at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Olympique Antibes (#17) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
