Not a big story in a game in Qingdao where 16th ranked Eagles (6-16) were defeated by twelfth ranked Jilin Tigers (10-11) 124-116. They made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Jilin Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and international swingman ChengYu Zhang (193-89) added 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Eagles. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Eagles' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jilin Tigers moved-up to eleventh place. Eagles at the other side keep the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Jilin Tigers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Long-Lions (#9) in Guangzhou and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play at home against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) and hope to win that game.
