Very predictable result in Las Palmas where fourth ranked Leganes (9-3) edged 9th ranked Gran Canaria (5-7) 73-72 on Friday. They outrebounded Gran Canaria 40-29 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Daira Varas (193-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: ProDep Management) who added 22 points during the contest. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Sparkle Taylor (178-95, college: UTEP) with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese guard Diodio Diouf (170-84) scored 15 points.
