Regular Season Round 15: Pogon Prudnik - AZS AGH KR 102-81

There was no surprise when 11th ranked AZS AGH KR (6-9) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked Pogon Prudnik (8-7) 102-81. Pogon Prudnik dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to AZS AGH KR's 42 and made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Pogon Prudnik forced 20 AZS AGH KR turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by AZS AGH KR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Iwan Wasyl (193-97) came up with 18 points and point guard Tomasz Zych (185-87) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for AZS AGH KR in the defeat. Five Pogon Prudnik and four AZS AGH KR players scored in double figures. AZS AGH KR's coach Wojciech Bychawski gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Pogon Prudnik moved-up to sixth place, which they share with GKS Tychy. AZS AGH KR lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Pogon Prudnik's next round opponent will be Gornik (#8) in Walbrzych. AZS AGH KR will play on the road against STK Czarni in Slupsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
