Regular Season Round 14: MKS DG 2 - AZS UJK Kielce 97-108

Very expected game in Dabrowa Gornicza where bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-14) was defeated by fourth ranked AZS UJK Kielce (10-4) 108-97 on Saturday. AZS UJK Kielce looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Marcel Kapuscinski (199-97) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Center Maciej Szewczyk (197-94) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five AZS UJK Kielce players scored in double figures. AZS UJK Kielce's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Radoslaw Chorab (191-0) produced 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Michal Batorski (200-88) added 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. AZS UJK Kielce have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with Wisla Krakow. Loser MKS DG 2 still closes the standings with 14 games lost. AZS UJK Kielce will face Pogon RS (#8) in Ruda Slaska in the next round where they are favorite. MKS DG 2 will play at home against Zaglebie (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
