Regular Season Round 11: Ermis Agias - Iraklis 91-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Iraklis (9-2) in Larissa on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Ermis Agias (8-3) 91-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Iraklis. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Ermis Agias forced 21 Iraklis turnovers. It was a great evening for Latvian Rihards Kuksiks (201-88, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Ermis Agias players scored in double figures. Giannis Athanasoulas (202-87) responded with 20 points and 6 assists and Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ermis Agias moved-up to second place, which they share with Ionikos Nikaias. Iraklis at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Ermis Agias is looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Iraklis will play against Ippokratis (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
