Regular Season Round 14: Ponferrada CDP - Betanzos 95-76

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Ponferrada CDP (8-3) outleveled at home 9th ranked Betanzos (4-7) 95-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ponferrada CDP. Betanzos was better in third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ponferrada CDP dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Betanzos' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Canadian swingman Taevaunn Prince (191-91, college: Missouri So.) scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American Sean Mcdonell (203-95) chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Ponferrada CDP's coach Luis Daniel Enriquez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Senegalese power forward Abdou Thiam (204-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 24 rebounds and Daniel Martin (188-97) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. Ponferrada CDP keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Betanzos dropped to the eleventh place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
