Regular Season Round 6: Sagesse - Homentmen 66-74
Date: December 22, 2018
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Homentmen (#2) and Sagesse (#8). Sagesse was defeated at home 66-74 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 assists. Guard Karim Zeinoun (188-99) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian power forward Keanau Post (211-92, college: Missouri) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Aziz Abdel-Massih added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Sagesse. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Homentmen have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion (5-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Riyadi. Sagesse lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. They share the position with Hoops.
