Regular Season Round 11: Poitiers - Saint-Chamond 89-77

An interesting game took place in Poitiers where 4th placed Saint Chamond (7-4) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Poitiers (4-7) 89-77. They made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Poitiers forced 19 Saint Chamond turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Saint Chamond helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: Loyola Mary) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 assists. Kevin Harley (196-94) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (205-88) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Tunisian Makram Ben-Romdhane (205-89) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Poitiers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Denain. Saint Chamond at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Poitiers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Nantes (#10) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint Chamond will play against Sluc Nancy (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
