Regular Season Round 13: Pistoia - Civitanova 70-56

There was an upset when higher ranked Civitanova (5-6) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Pistoia (4-9) 70-56 on Saturday. Pistoia outrebounded Civitanova 41-24 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Bosnian power forward Natasa Tomasovic (185-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Pistoia players scored in double figures. Pistoia's coach Stefano Tommei used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and guard Giorgia Bocola (180-0) added 15 points in the effort for Civitanova. Newly promoted Pistoia maintains thirteenth place in A2 with 4-9 record. Loser Civitanova dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Pistoia will face higher ranked San Giovanni (#8) in Valdarno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
