Regular Season Round 16: Recy Saint-Martin - Sorgues BC 85-88

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Recy Saint-Martin (3-13) was edged on the road by seventh ranked Sorgues BC (8-8) 88-85 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sorgues BC dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Recy Saint-Martin's 28. They outrebounded Recy Saint-Martin 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Cecil Williams (198, college: Cent.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and center David Conde (202-92) who added 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Sorgues BC's coach Etienne Faye allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Adrien Thimon (188-94) responded with 26 points and swingman Leo Gimenez (194-93) scored 15 points. Four Sorgues BC and five Recy Saint-Martin players scored in double figures. Sorgues BC moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Feurs EF and Boulogne. Recy Saint-Martin lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Sorgues BC will face SO Maritime Boulogne (#7) in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round. Recy Saint-Martin will play at home against ALS Basket (#10) and hope to win that game.
