There was a surprise result in Jaworzno where ninth ranked Unia Tarnow (6-8) won against higher ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (8-6) 81-73 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Jacek Sulowski (192-79) who scored 28 points. Guard Tomasz Bryzek (195-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Unia Tarnow players scored in double figures. Guard Dawid Grochowski (190-89) produced 21 points and 4 assists and power forward Daniel Goldammer (200-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Unia Tarnow maintains ninth position in Group C with 6-8 record. Loser MCKiS Jaworz. keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Unia Tarnow will face higher ranked Wisla Krakow (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MCKiS Jaworz. will play against Bielsko-Biala and hope to win that game.
