Regular Season Round 13: Faenza - Orvieto 71-35

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Orvieto (3-11) was outleveled on the road by fourth ranked Faenza (10-3) 71-35 on Saturday. Faenza held Orvieto to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Faenza forced 27 Orvieto turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for swingman Elisa Policari (183-97) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. Sara Franceschini (-1) contributed with 12 points and 5 steals for the winners. Swingman Flavia De-Cassan (177-98, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Selene Grilli (162-99) added 13 points in the effort for Orvieto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Faenza maintains fourth place in A2 with 10-3 record. Loser Orvieto dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Faenza will face San Salvatore (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
