An interesting game for Perfumerias Avenida (10-1) which hosted in Salamanca 4th placed Gipuzkoa UPV (7-4). Third ranked Perfumerias Avenida managed to get a 4-point victory 58-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa UPV. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Silvia Dominguez (166-87) helped adding 8 points and 8 assists. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia, agency: ProDep Management) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Gipuzkoa UPV's coach Aranzazu Muguruza tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Perfumerias Avenida. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Girona. Gipuzkoa UPV at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Valencia. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Mann Filter (#10) in Zaragoza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa UPV will play at home against Gernika (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
