Regular Season Round 11: Mursa - Ragusa 58-90

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Ragusa (6-5) rolled over 11th ranked Mursa (1-10) in Osijek 90-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ragusa. Mursa managed to win second period 25-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mursa to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mursa's 28. Ragusa forced 34 Mursa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Carmen Miloglav (170-91, college: FIU, agency: ProDep Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists and 7 steals. Point guard Ana Haklicka (172-0) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals for the winning side. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Point guard Petra Lovric (166-96) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Petra Simunic (-93) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Mursa in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ragusa moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zagreb and Tresnjevka. Mursa lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Pozega. Ragusa will meet league's second-placed ZKK Medvescak in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mursa will play against the league's leader ZKK Split (#1) and hope to win that game.
