Everything went according to plan in Golbey where ninth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (7-9) beat 13th ranked GET Vosges (3-13) 92-88 on Saturday. GET Vosges was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Bosnian Nemanja Kovanusic (204-93) who added 25 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Rodney Williams (201-93, college: Drexel) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and Tristan Toneguzzo (200-94) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four GET Vosges players scored in double figures. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Charleville-Mezieres maintains ninth position in Group A with 7-9 record. Loser GET Vosges keeps the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face higher ranked Orchesien BC (#4) in Orchies in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GET Vosges will play on the road against Saint Vallier (#3) and hope to win that game.
